At WOODRISE, industry stakeholders gather to identify design and construction requirements in terms of materials, technologies, and engineering, and to explore the future potential for the development of mid-rise and high-rise wooden buildings. Japan has a long history of constructing wooden buildings, but faces significant challenges in using wood for high-rise buildings and large-scale buildings. The theme for WOODRISE 2021 Kyoto is Wooden Buildings for Sustainable Development: From the Traditional to the Future. The conference will gather extensive information and knowledge about advanced wooden building technologies in different countries and facilitate exchanges among organizations and companies in Japan and other countries.
