On September 29, 2021, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) proposed revisions to Japan’s maximum residue levels for 14 agricultural chemicals (Clethodim, Sedaxane, Flutianil, Propargite, Mandipropamid, Metamifop, Isoeugenol, Oxyclozanide, Tylvalosin, Trimethoprim, Halofuginone, Maduramicin, Robenidine, and Canthaxanthin) for various agricultural commodities. Interested U.S. parties are encouraged to submit their comments to PlantDivision@usda.gov for plant products and to TFAA.FAS.AnimalDivision@usda.gov for animal products by October 12, 2021. Japan will subsequently notify these revisions to the World Trade Organization, which will provide another opportunity to comment.
